Stephen Passmore
Pastor
I was born and raised on a farm in the Canterbury, Kent area. During my early years I had no Christian influence in my life, and it wasn't until I was 19 years old that I heard the message of the gospel for the very first time, while visiting family friends in Canada. As I was presented with the claims of Jesus Christ, I recognised that I needed to respond to all that He had done for me. So I knelt in a field in Alberta, and recognizing my sinfulness and need for forgiveness, I trusted in Christ as my Saviour. From that point, and while attending a vibrant church in London, I grew rapidly in my faith, and it was while I was happily employed as a landscape gardener in London, that God called me to full-time pastoral ministry. I graduated from Spurgeon's College in 1990, and I have since served in churches in the UK, Norway and the USA. My passion is for people to know God deeply, as He is revealed in His Word, and for the church to remain true to her calling.
I am married to Margaret, and we have three adult married children and six grandchildren. In my spare time I like to read, listen to cricket, visit gardens and travel.

PASTORAL MINISTRY INTERN

I was born and have lived in Middlesbrough for most of my life. I became a Christian at the
age of 17 after a struggle with mental health. The Lord spoke to me during a tough time in
my life but also my heart was opened to God. I was fortunate to go to America on a football
tour and that is where I truly learnt who Christ was and how He had died for me and that
the Lord of the Universe wanted a relationship with me. I gave my life to Christ and became
a Christian whilst I was over there at a church in Houston, Texas. The Lord called me to
ministry in some form pretty much straight away, and then gave me the call to be a pastor
when I was a door to door salesman selling Hello Fresh. I went on to complete a theology
degree at Durham University, and I have been in some form of ministry
for the past 11 years. I have seen first- hand in my own and my family's salvation how the
Lord can change anyone’s heart, and all are welcome in the Kingdom of God. I love to
share that and for others to know that. We must love God, love others, and make disciples.
In my spare time I love to watch and play sports, and I currently play in the North East
Christian Fellowship Football League. I also love to hike, walk and get out into God’s creation
as well as read a good book. I have two parents, a sister and brother in law and two
nephews who I love to spend time with too.
